Morning all,

Has anyone purchased the Dapol diamond Jubilee class 67 model that is exclusive to Modellbahn Union?

I keep umming and erring about it as I quite fancy it.
Has anyone got any thoughts about it etc?

Thanks
Dan

Yes, and haven't regretted it.  Great looking loco and the one I have has the smoothest motor of all my 67s with over 20 hours of running so far - that'll be the kiss of death now I've said that!!  ::) .

Obviously there is the extra expense to consider, but I have justified it to myself that it is limited release and the livery is reproduced extremely well.  :)

It also came with the new Dapol warranty arrangement.

Cheers,
Flounder

Thanks for the reply Flounder :)

What stock do you run yours with?

Many thanks

Wouldn't mind one of those...

Good question! At the moment I am supposed to be starting my layout, but have a 38ft double track test circuit that I keep running anything and everything on for the last 10 months.  For example the last stock the Jubilee 67 was pulling was a rake of 5 JJA autoballasters.  I'm not actually sure what stock I will run with it if I ever get the layout built, but then again I'm probably more 'freelance' when it comes to what goes with what  :D

Cheers,
Flounder

I haven't got my layout built yet either (soon to start laying track).
Those autoballasters are definately on my xmas list :)

I'm considering buying the electra graphics and a load of old Farish mk3's and attempting to convert them to the royal train :).

Can anyone confirm that I'm right in thinking I'd have the Class 67 Diamond jubilee loco on the front and then another royal class 67 on the back?

Many thanks

Dan, you are correct re: the claret royal 67s on the back of the 2012 Jubilee tour train.

The photos I have found shows 67006 being used.  Unfortunately what I can't find info on is the make up of the coaching stock as photos appear to depict one or more coaches from the EWS management train on some of the longer tours (e.g. South Wales late April 2012).

Cheers,
Flounder.

Thanks Flounder,

Well,  I've now taken the plunge and have ordered the 67 Diamond Jubilee, emailed Adam at electra graphics to purchase the Royal Train vinyls, and have literally just won on ebay a dummy 67 Royal 67005 (so will need to renumber) loco. :)

I can't wait to get it sorted :)

No need to renumber it Dan.

I have seen it a few times this and it has had on it any of 67005/006/026/029.

Most common was 26 and 29 but have seen it with 5 instead of 29 once on it so you should be ok.

Thanks Alistair,  In that case I won't renumber it and will leave it as is :)

Now I've just got to source some old farish mk3's to apply the vinyls too :)

Hi all

This class 67 has worked on the Fife loco-hauled train which is made up of Mk2f coaches in Maroon livery also the loco that works this train also works the Edinburgh binliner so some flats with suitable containers would be  good stock to run it with!

Kind regards
Dave
