I saw an acquaintance in the supermarket this morning and it looked as if he was laying in emergency stocks like so many others have done. When I asked if he had a gas cooker he said no, and when I asked if he had a camping gas stove he looked me as if I was mad. I told him he could have a house full of emergency supplies but chances are there'll be no power to cook 'em with

be eating one of them "cold collations" then. Tin of corned beef, tin of cold baked beans poured over the top - nothing quite like it  :D

To quote one of the characters interviewed about it on the local TV news "if the power goes off, we'll have to watch telly by candle light..."

More bad luck if you only have an electric can opener for the beans :)

Didn't you also ask if he'd bought a "cremation" package? ????
A jack of all trades is a master of none, but often times better than a master of one.

My sole purchase to 'comply with instructions' was a tin of Irish Stew, which I can open but may have to be heated with a blow lamp (I hope there's enough gas in it)...

Seems there has also been a surge in purchases of toilet paper.......

For a three day emergency????

Well,...

Gas BBQ,
three primus gas stoves + spare canisters,
generator,
two freezers rammed with food,
two kitchen cupboards rammed with bottles & cans,
bottled water,
loo roll,
kitchen roll,...

that's just our normal life.  ???

Oh, & four shotguns, two rifles & an air rifle.

Presumably the kitchen rolls are to mop up the blood resulting from the use of the shotguns >:D

Bigmac

if the mob panic buy loo rolls--again--you can double the life of your loo roll by using both sides.
i used to be indecisive...but now i'm not so sure.
