With just a couple of weeks to go I wish everyone the Christmas they'd like, and may Santa bring what you desire. Come back safe and sound to the forum for what will, hopefully, be an exciting 2026. Certainly if my pre orders turn up it will be an expensive New Year for me!!

Thank you to @Tank for running the Forum like clockwork, all the mods for keeping us in order, and everybody else for good company, sound advice and fascinating information (with special mention to @Train Waiting and his excellent 'Coarse Guide' which was so brief you may have missed it).

All the best for 2026.

Chris, you used the W word and the swear filter didn't spot it?!

Luckily, this year I'm off from Christmas Eve and return to the bosom of the NHS on January 5th. I've just been given £65K to buy my team a new machine that helps us fight blood cancer, so I am a very happy bunny this Christmas.

Merry Christmas one and all.

Worked Christmas for about half of my working life..
Not any more....
I'm retired..

Our concession to Christmas day is no house work.
The turkey and everything else for the meal is cooked sliced and waiting in the freezer..

That will be walked off by a stroll on the beach with the dog..

Merry Christmas to you all..

Merry Christmas everyone.

We don't do traditional Christmas fayre preferring to cook something from different countries around the world  each year. This year it's tagine.

In our case the stroll along the beach, or more likely the sea front and sea wall, will be before lunch. Unfortunately, of course, there will be no trains to watch as we stroll.

That's like that line from Hancock's Half Hour from many moons ago:

"I thought my mother was a bad cook, but at least her gravy used to move about!"

 :food:  :sick2:

Cheers,

That sounds like an ideal day, I hope you enjoy it. Sadly, my old dog can't walk on the beach these days, but we are also after a minimal effort meal with a short walk with her afterwards.
