It was a good day out and worth the journey from Kent to see it. With so many people attending there was always going to be a queue and there was. I joined the queue at 10:26, my watch says it took 47 minutes to cover 1.2km. It was odd that as the queue went along Litchurch Lane and Osmastron Road, another queue went in the opposite direction from the entrance along Litchurch Land and was only about 20 metres long. More queues for refreshments later.

The exhibits were good and varies, normal depot safety rules were cancelled allowing everyone to get close to there favourite locos. I stood  on some track and had Jubilee class Sierra Leone come straight towards me and stop a couple of metres away separated by just a metal barrier. There was a good selection of model layouts inside, and trade stands which I managed to avoid.

There are photos but in the last thread that I posted photos of main line it was then locked. Travelling home now so no time to sort the photos out.

I spoke briefly to someone who attended Derby today (Sat). Apparently Preserved (old) buses were being use to ferry visitors from Derby bus station to the site - but being 'old' they were definitely NOT accessible to wheelchairs. He said a couple of newer low-floor buses were available but he didn't see them used - he saw someone in a wheelchair making their own way - and it was a considerable distance. Once on the site, a demonstration ride on a Class 345 was only accessible by steps! Absolutely unbelievable in 2025! 0/10 for the organizers. Try better in 2125.

The whole site is not well suited to wheelchairs. It's a working yard, so that isn't entirely surprising. They were very upfront about this beforehand. I did see a few people with various mobility aids, but frankly it would have been a very limiting experience all around. Your post is unfair IMO.
