Ifound that the undersized wheels can be replaced with 3'6'' coach wheels to be nearer the 4' insisted on by the civil engineer. No problems even on canted track and the buffers still match a Dapol 56.

I've been corrected on the wheel size. They were 3'7'', so the Farish coach wheels are perfect for the job!
