Simply saying 'Use the Search facility' just doesn't cut it

@Newportnobby   you could always use your browser to bookmark the link?   
I must admit I've never used the forum bookmark facility but I do use browser bookmarks/favourites for various things of interest.

From what I've seen yesterday and today there are a lot of avatars missing

I have an 'Unread Posts' problem.

Last night I looked at the Forum, and I had 12 unread posts. This morning, I looked at the Forum at around 8.15am, still 12 unread Posts.

I've just looked at the Forum now,and I've only got 5 unread posts.

I suspected this was happening, which is why I've been monitoring it for 24hrs.

Why are my 'unread posts' vanishing before I've read them? It's a real pain in the wotsits. I frequently leave some unread items so I can look at them more leisurely lately. Now I can't find them as they've vanished.

Help would be appreciated.

At the very, very top of the page above the NGF banner there's three icons.
Try clicking the middle one.

In addition to the top menu, there's a little speech bubble icon under the users name/avatar/post count to the left of each post they make. A green + next to it means they're currently on line.

The unread posts gives me about 5 pages to trawl through.

To be honest it's making it difficult fir me to use the Forum as things just vanish.

I check the Forum just now for a response. A dozen or so posts. Looked at one, went to unread posts, only 1 showing now.

It's only started doing this in the last 48hrs. It was fine before, i.e., just after the upgrade.

"Unread Posts" seems to be working as expected for me.  I get 1 or 2 pages just as I used to for "Unread posts since last visit" on the old version of the forum, which was the only option I ever used tbh.   

If I read a couple of posts they go from the list but the others remain.

The bulk of mine vanish without being read.

 

I've successfully edited a post but I can't find the "Reason for edit" feature - has it been removed ?

It is sometimes very useful.
