Is the owner of the Barton Rd N Gauge layout in the latest modeller a member of this forum, I've been looking at some youtube videos of the layout and wanted to ask what couplings he uses in his coaching stock rakes as they are nicely close coupled, not the big gap you normally associate with N gauge?

Barton Road is one of my favourite layouts but I don't think anyone associated with it is a forum member. Have you tried Farish short shank couplers 379-402? You might have to experiment with a mix of couplings to avoid buffer lock if you have tight curves in your track.
