Iv always found Maplins rather expensive!! ::) Any electronic parts, i always search that big auction site 1st  Got caught out last year when i wanted 2 of those single to 4 sockets that are switchable for my tv, Virgin box etc. Not thinking to search around on the internet, i popped straight to Maplins where they were selling them for £16.00 each. I thought that seems fair as i couldnt find them anywhere e.g B&Q etc.....A week later i popped into Home Bargains in Bedworth and found them for £4.00 each :o

Oh well, you win some, you loose some.

Cheers, Anthony

Hey they were right - 1 amp blew quick  ::)   :smiley-laughing:

For those interested - they have a deal on a 60W soldering station atm - seems pretty good ...

Re fuse, the next stop would have been a professional repairer from the shop I bought the organ and they charge around a min of £60 an hour (or part thereof). Wouldn't have been chuffed to have been landed with that for maybe 5mins to replace a 10pence fuse!

Also SWMBO has a netbook (bought a couple of years ago and at which time we purchased a plugin USB hub from Maplins at which time we asked if it was suitable for a Netbook running Windows7. 'Yes' was the answer). OK our fault for maybe not trying (actually needing to use it) before last weekend but it is a dud for  W7! Works perfectly on my Windows Vista laptop though when I tested it....(hurrah for Vista - it does have Moviemaker apart from anything else).
