got some wargames 20mm vehicles that have been sprayed with Humbrol acrylic rattle cans, but I find I need to touch up a couple of wheels where I have over painted the tyre colour.

but I have only been able to source the basic colour in enamel in a tin, so can I over paint the acrylic with enamel, or should I respray with acrylic, and then repaint the tyres ?

The advice I was given re: the above topic was that as long as one was completely dry, i.e. all traces of solvent evaporated, circa 4-6 days in good warm conditions then it should be okay to overpaint one with the other.

I suggest doing a test vehicle.

Oh yes, you'll also probably find they will be slightly different colours!

The technique I use for shading my wargame figures is: acrylic for the base, wait an hour or so and then a wash of oil paint diluted with white spirit.  I have never had any issue with the acrylic paint being removed by the solvent.

many thanks for the replies.

as the one vehicle that I need to touch up the wheels on was painted about a week ago, that should be ok.
but rather an touching up the one wheel, I think I'll paint the whole wheel, just to allow for any difference in shade.

again, many thanks.
