Ardent Cheesehead I might be but even I thought the Packers would come unstuck against the 49ers and so it proved to be :'( :'(
The Super Bowl will therefore be Kansas City Chiefs V San Francisco 49ers and, if their current season is anything to go by, it will be one helluva game and at least I'll have no particular team to root for. Roll on 2nd Feb

Agreed.

Me and the wife will be off to Key West for a short vacation  :D

BTW is this Crown Green or Ten Pin Superbowling?

The night I had difficulty to decide for whom to side... but in the SB it's Forty-Niners for win.
It was amazing how the 49er demolished the Packers. I think they now can collect the fruit of their rebuild program...

I don't recall there being offence, defence and special teams in lawn bowls but maybe they changed the rules since I last played :D

I can't think of a team I'd like less to win than the 49ers! So KC for the win for me plus watching Patrick Mahomes is a joy.

Newportnobby

At least no one can use 'clash of the Titans' as that happened last week and they lost. They got much further than I thought they would, though.
With the Super Bowl starting late I'll probably record it and watch it the next day (yeah, I know - lightweight ::)) so this thread will be ignored that day

Newportnobby

I'll not give the result just in case it spoils things for anyone who has managed to avoid it and is still to watch it, but I'm so glad I recorded it as I was able to see each and every play. As a (slightly) impartial viewer I thought it was a wonderful advert for the game.
Just one thing, though, please, Americans. Don't call it a world championship when it's limited to American teams  :stop:

You've obviously never seen the league teams my fathers club puts out.

I can explain it to you...

Well after having to put up with it all day yesterday, there's the post mortem on this morning..... "Did the Chiefs win it or the 49ers blow it?"

Still, nobody's making me watch it I suppose.....

I watched the first two quarters. And it was worth it. Tight score, nice and surprising play-calls. As the german comentators (including some head-coaches and former and active players) summed it up during the half-time break: "The kind of football game we like: tight score, nice playing,..."

Being a SoCal fan, I think the last two quarters would not have pleased me, so I consider me lucky having seen the better part of the SuperBowl game.

I you haven't seen it yet: Watch the first two quarters.

I was hoping my post implied that I'm not a great fan of the game, but I won't belittle people who are  ;) :beers:

If you only watched the first two quarters then you missed out! The 4th quarter was incredible.  Mahommes played pretty poorly for the first 2 quarters. The second half really showed the difference between an OK quarterback (Garopolo) and a star QB.

I feel pretty comfortable with this title! What other World city/state could beat the NFL's best team?  :D
Spend as little as possible on what you need so you can spend as much as possible on what you want.

At least the Major League Baseball World Series has a team from Canada.

Just posting to be smug, called the winners and the main man, okay thought it would be much closer but when Mahomes is on it he is incredible, I swear he could complete if he was hanging upside down. If only Denver had some decent players, coaches and a man in charge who wasn't there because of one famous play   ::)
