I've downloaded a number of the scalescenes kits ( large station, viaduct, church) and had them printed by an online company due to number of sheets and better quality. I carnt find anyone that will print onto clear sheets online for postal delivery. I've tried ohp sheets, inkjet transparency (yes printing not the rough side!) but I just get a smeared mess. I've got an epson 255 so I'm wondering if it's my printer won't do it in which case I'm stuffed. I'm trying to print the clear sheets for the large station canopy, I've tried normal print, draft, economy all just smear the print and ink doesn't dry, any one any thoughts or able to help? Maybe my printer won't do it, or does anyone know of a company that will ? I need 8 sheets to do the canopy, then a few more sheets for the church, large station. Or if anyone willing to print and post I'm happy to donate to the xmas beer fund ! Thanks.

It does sound like your printer isn't capable. I haven't tried my current HP printer, but I will try printing a transparency later and see it it works. Where about do you live? Anywhere near Brum?
The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.

A laser may be better - use the special laser transparencies or disaster  may befall ( don't ask how I know but needed a new drum! )

I take it that the ordinary ones didn't agree with the fusing stage  :D

Try printing on the rough side.
I use a HP envy inkjet printer and I had the same problem when I first started to print Scalescenes kits.
Just be careful loading the ohp film as my printer prints on the reverse side to the way it is loaded in the tray. I don't know if other printers do the same.
I load the ohp film smooth side up in my feed tray,And it prints ok onto the rough side.
The easy way to check is to print something on paper and then put that printed sheet back into the feed tray noting which way up it is, and print something else on the same sheet.
Depending on which side the new print comes out, you will know the orientation of the ohp needed in the feed tray.
Leave the printed ohp sheet to dry for a few minutes before handling and you should be ok

The Epson XP255 should do transparencies, but you need to select the correct output media "inkjet OHP Transparency" in the print settings.
This is sometimes missing from generic windows drivers, so you may need to install the OEM driver software including the Epson console on the host PC to access it...

My Epson printer (not xp255) will not print OHP transparencies. What I do is sellotape A4 sheet on to smooth side and print on rough side. Printer thinks it is printing on white paper. Works for me. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help chaps. I'm using it with a Mac air doesn't seem to have an option for clear transparency hence trying draft etc, and just to confirm as per my original post, my inkjet prints on the top of the sheet as it feeds and def going in rough side up. Job for after xmas now before I launch both printer and models out the window !
