hi folks
as it been round about 50 years since i had a railway layout
which was my dad and my pride and joy
some of the things and makers as changed a lot since then
was looking at the kato railway items
and was wondering what other make of rolling stock would run on the kato track
sorry if this sound a stupid thing to ask
thanks for any help and tips you can let me know of would be grate

I'm not a Kato user but i'm pretty sure Farish and Dapol rolling stock will be fine. I'm sure someone will be along soon to confirm this.

N gauge track is N gauge track, I have run Kato, Tomix, Greenmax, MicroAce, Farish, Dapol, Fleischmann, Brawa, Minixtrix and more on Kato track with no issues.

As railsquid says, just about any make of rolling stock will run on Kato track. My layout is Kato track and I have rolling stock from the likes of Dapol, GF, Arnold, Kato, (of course  ) and other makes - all roll fine on the track.

@dps51 as others have said, it is pretty universal however, I am aware that some guys have experienced issues running British stock across Kato #4 points, also any older stock with big 'pizza cutter' wheel flanges also can struggle on occasion.
I have run Japanese and American stock without issue except where my track was not perfectly flat and a CP Rail loco kept catching, but that was down to me rather than the track.

All my Lima siphons and horseboxes with "pizza cutters" (some since re-wheeled with Farish axles) were fine on Kato pointwork, but I never used #4 points.

Yup, I don't recall any particular problems with older wheelsets either.

The only thing I know definitely won't work is ancient Lone Star OOO stuff, which will run on N gauge track but the wheel tyres are too thick to traverse pointwork.

You've got some Lone Star stuff, then?
