Bob, thanks for reiterating the statement which should guide us all. I derive a lot of pleasure viewing photographs and videos of a variety of layouts, admiring aspects of them all. As I build out my own layout, though, I'm just indulging my self-interest, not trying to emulate others. I prefer my layout to feature a single point in time, but just as we see restored rolling stock on our rails, today, my layout is a track plan that can accommodate trains of all eras, I'll continue to buy and run the trains I find most appealing.
