In a surprise move, the Mayor, has announced that he is sponsoring a range of N gauge Olympic trains and dioramas to be produced in time for the Olympics. The items include :

A special Olympic Javelin train "I'm shipping these from Japan and getting our best local graffiti artists to paint them - brilliant idea" he commented.
A moving bus system complete with imitation GB Olympic squad so you can watch the athletes ride in style past the traffic jams - angry commuters are available at extra cost.
'Chaos on the Jubilee line' diorama complete with 'move down the platform' announcements. This diorama, replicating the regular scrum at Waterloo, is packed with queuing commuters and signs indication there is a good service on all lines.
'No so plain sailing to Weymouth'. A series of dioramas including hold ups due to sheep on the line at Wool, a broken down freight train at Parkstone and surprised Japanese tourists marvelling at how the main line SW Olympic line still has a single line section.

"I thought is was shameful that there is nothing for N scale rail modellers to commemorate the Olympics by. So we have jolly well got on and done something! I've struck a deal with the Japs for the stock (so we know it is reliable) and an using prisoners to decorate them - keeps costs down and helps build that true British community spirit!" added Mr Johnston. "My old buddy Richard Branston is getting into the action by producing a Olympic Pendolino too"
Just one Pendolino, give it to me, a beautiful train, from Italy

You forgot the N Gauge DCC Boris Bikes with fully functioning directional lights and bell sounds.

They're there too, but as an add-on to the Cycle Stadium thingie Hornby make ...

Pendy - have you had the wrong sort of mushrooms for breakfast 8) or have you woken up from your dream now?
I can tell by the last sentence your desire for a Pendolino is getting the better of you  :smiley-laughing:

Bikeracer

I'm not a complete idiot..some bits are missing.

Mustermark

Seriously, there is an Olympic souvenir from Corgi/Hornby if you like that sort of thing! A sort of Piccadilly line LU apparently 1:152  in which I fitted a 101 chassis and painted out the 2012 logo. Wouldn't suit the mm perfectionists but its ok for me. A 4 car LU train for under £40 plus spare 101 bits.

You can see a pic of the original on 'corgi 2012 models'. All I did was paint the roof grey and add some LU decals to the coaches. A full description can be found on the Yahoo forum some time in August 2011 but I cannot give you exact references as I no longer subscribe. It is apparently 1:142 which wont suit the mm perfectionists but will do for me. Being diecast the coaches are heavier than the usual N coaches but a fairly old 101 motor will pull 4 cars.

I never believed the story but was querying the state of Pendy's mind when that was composed.
