With regards to JMRI can I install the software on one PC, then when my main layout is completed transfrer the files to a different PC including the decoders, point controls etc. As im currently constructing a small inhouse layout on a table to use DCC. then i plan to transfer it to the shed when its finsihed later this year.

Yes. You can move all the JMRI data files you have across.

cheers for the advice. my next question can it be run on two screens, ie have 2 pc screen running different parts of the programe, like one for train controllers other for points?

my god there are so many buttons on JMRI. are there any experts in my area using this software.

I would recommend having a quick look at the JMRI intros, FAQs and manual. Just be aware that JMRI is more than just one tool - essentially the two main bits are DecoderPro and PanelPro.

Don't be put off by how much there is, you only need to use relatively small amounts of functions initially.

yeah im slowly working my way through the site, its just alot of information to absorb, i just want to see my trains move lol.
