Hi,
The warmer weather as given rise to me entering garage, quick clean, then pick up where I left off at the beginning of winter, I have to say reading this forum has recharged the old batteries!, even had the garage door open to get more light and fresh air, very nice!, managed to lift platform lines 3 and 4, clean track, re-fishplate, and relay, test with my trusty C59 pacific as she picks up every bump and lurch, then replace platforms.
On nights tomorrow so might have a bash at platform 2, see how it goes! all down to some nice weather!!!

Good for you Blue. looks like Spring weather is on the way in your part of the world, here in Oz it is getting more comfortable working on my shed layout because it is getting a wee bit cooler.
Keep on Smiling
Dave.

Hi Bluebottle,

I know what you mean. I was able to get out to the shed over the weekend and do some alteration work on the main layout. Took my rolling stock out after their hibernation indoors, but not any engines yet. Need to give them all a quick service first.

Hi all

The decent weather let me get out on the patio and make good progress on building the baseboard.
Supports will be a pair of height adjustable trestles from IKEA.

Ply top varnished and mostly battened up with holes at strategic places to route the cables. Ordered stage 1 of the track and points from Hattons on Sunday morning. Need now to get the cable sorted. I will be cabling up 'DCC ready' but will be running DC for the time being.

Hope to post a few pics once I get to laying the track down.

Regards

Dave

Oh the joys of a large spare room.... ;D, except that I forget sometimes that there is life outside the railway room as HID keeps telling me.

I have looked out to the shed three times today and even popped some bits that arrived in the post this morning out there but alas i have a bad back and not much time for modelling right now (not for wanting to) im thinking i might just get some more point levers fitted after dinner or tommorrow no bending over needed there,,,,,

                 Hi Folks again,
Well I did manage to get platform 2 done but it was'nt as warm as yesterday, garage door firmly closed and had to keep blowing hot air on to hands to keep them moving, sun came out after I finished in garage of coarse, so, off to work on lovely 12 hour night turns!!? deep joy!
