Current tally - two cats, two chinchillas, one Roborovski Hamster and a fish that seems destined to live forever!  :smiley-laughing:

First up is Molly the Maine Coon cat, she's 17 years old now and going a bit deaf, still keeps Tigger in line though ;)

Here's Tigger, he's 8 years old and a complete sap  ::) You may have seen him inspecting my trackwork on another thread  :smiley-laughing: Doing what he does best here - lounging on a warm lap!

These two little terrors are Austin & Morris, our three-and-a-half year old Chinchillas. They are so called because I'm a massive Mini fan (the original, not the BMW "pretender"), and the first two Minis ever produced were a grey Austin Mini Seven and a beige Morris Mini Minor  :)

This is Henry (Ford  ;D ), the Roborovski Hamster. He's less than a year old and too small to get a decent photo of! He's an adrenalin junkie, running in his saucer-wheel really fast then clinging to the centre bit and going round and round - unless he gets thrown out across the cage first! He's nuts  :smiley-laughing:

Finally we have Dan the Sarasa Comet - the last of three fish we had. He's six and still going strong.

I don't know whether to be annoyed at the teasing, or laughing at the cat's repeated assaults on the printer !!!  But that curiosity / attitude is right for those cats, our late Pixel was similarly , and coloured just the same  :smiley-laughing:

The first printer we got was a Citizen dot-matrix - noisy bugger ... she loved watching the print-head moving across, same with the paper ...  we used to find her sitting on it waiting for it to move !  And she'd still sit on it, trying to catch the head under the transparent cover, when in use ...  ::)

Sadly missed  :'(

My little Chihuahua Pup that we called Tootsie, a total ball of love.

When this photo was taken she was the same length as a desert spoon.

Keep on Smiling
Dave.

Sorry if posting that caused any upset, Mike
No, no, brought back some happy memories of her ...

Sadly we lost 2 of our dogs to illness last month so we are left with our 8 year old Cairn Terrier Charlie.
So off we go to the local rescue centre to get a  SMALL, FEMALE, YOUNG dog for a companion.

Somehow we came home with SUGHERO, 35.5KG , MALE, 9(ish) with only one working eye ????

But he is incredibly calm even after 4 years in the kennels.
Some days its just not worth gnawing through the straps.

Dock Shunter

Much respect to you Jerry for giving that fella a home.
At least now he will be able to enjoy the rest of his life. :bounce:

Good on you and Mrs H for giving him freedom after four years.
The look on his face where he is standing looking at the camera makes me think you may have a bit of a poser there  :D

cheers John.

Nice one, Jerry  I am sure he'll appreciate his new home and Mrs H can always bring him to the Home for the Battered & Bewildered to see you ;)

It's nice to know that quite a few railway modellers are also pet keepers. We have just finished our barbecue tea during which we receiving advice about our remaining pooch with a proposal that her skin cancer is now at a stage that we should be considering putting her at rest.

Easy to say I suppose but definitely a difficult decision. I had to leave the rest of them talking on the basis that trains were less painful !

Difficult days, maybe difficult weeks.

I wonder why we get so attached.

When a decision like this has to be made it is often clouded by our own feelings when we should be considering the feelings of our pets.  If they are in pain and nothing can be done then in the best interests of the animal has to come first.

To BobB

My heart goes out to you, the most difficult decision ever when it came to the crunch.
I am not a believer in anything but my collie passed away in the car en route to to the vets on her final journey.

We get attached because WE CARE !!

Some days its just not worth gnawing through the straps.
