I am in a long winded chase for a reasonably priced motor unit to fit under a P&D Marsh Sentinel Shunter white metal kit. I've followed the various post previously rumbling around on the forum, Pro Hobby Ca-ND-1 Carmel-Micro N Scale Chassis from Osbornes, who never reply to e-mails, and am more confused than ever.

I was wondering if anyone thought this may be suitable?

Also, this motor bogie appeared on Ebay, is this the one from the HST125 and the early 101EMU that they suggest?

If so, it seems a bit steep, what do others think?

:confused2:

Sometimes you bite the dog...

...sometimes the dog bites you!

----------------------------------------------------------

I can explain it to you...

...but I can't understand it for you.

I can recommend the Tomytec bogie

emjaybee

Is that a recommendation as in "it's a good chassis" or a "yes it fits well under the Sentinel"?

I'm still somewhat "at sea" with kits like this and obviously don't want to spend a chunk of cash on something unsuitable. Would have bought the Pro-Hobby chassis if I could find one.

Its a v. good bogie

NTrain

Thanks for the information. I have just ordered a Tomytec HM-01 to try out for one of my own projects.

From the pictures, it looks too bulky for very much, but will not know unless I try.

Snowwolflair

It is all clip together and comes apart to remove parts you don't need.

I got one on inside an Oxford die-cast tram

emjaybee

Anybody got any ideas of what the wheelbase is?

15mm

here are some photos.  I have thinned the wheels to fit the body.

emjaybee

I may have asked the wrong question there. What I'm after is the distance between axle centres.

What diameter are the wheels?

I'm still struggling to visualise the chassis I'm after.

Has anyone got any thoughts about the motor bogie linked in the first post?

I'd ideally like to DCC the Sentinel, but I may be over reaching on that, do you think?
