How about an anagram of your names - Rod and Anne e.g.
Randone
Rondane
Dranone
Nordane
etc

Hi Steamie+,

Forgot to post yesterday but was watching the football results and Blackburn were playing Blackpool so thought maybe Blackmere Valley or summit like that.

Just an idea.

Cheers weave  :beers:
Mere means lake or pond or maybe swamp and burn means stream in ancient language. Black probably means dark rather than black. So Blackmere Valley would mean valley with dark swamp - sounds scary!
Many old town names are descriptive in ancient languages used in this country. One of my favourites is Solihull. Quite a posh place now but the name means "muddy hill".
Working doesn't seem to be the perfect thing for me so I'll continue to play.

Hi Chris,

Blackpool is the scary place. Have you ever bumped into a hen night!  :)

I have heard it may not be the most prim and proper holiday resort in the .U.K.

What about NEN ROAD (Nen being Egyptian for ancient waters), or NEN VALLEY ROAD. I dunno. I'll stop now.

Hi Steamie

Lots of good names coming out. Thinking about it, I suggest you might consider naming your layout after its viaduct which is such a prominent feature. So your layout could be 'something' Viaduct. A viaduct could have all sorts of names including those of prominent 19th century railway engineers/entrepreneurs, someone else you admire from then, or a place name of some sort.

Just a thought

Thank you all for your input, now you have made it even harder for me to decide..lol..   seriously there are some brilliant names suggested and i have some thinking to do on it. I do like your idea Webbo about putting Viaduct, it does seem right.

Thanks again everybody, this is the best and brilliant Forum..... :) :) :) :)

Well i have got a name for my layout with Anne's help i asked her what name she liked and it is.............

                                           Roedann

So the layout will be called Roedann Viaduct.

After all Anne has been a tower of strength for me over these last few years and though it is only a model railway layout i think it is fitting that she had a choice in the name.

Thanks to all the members for their great contributions and comments, it is a pleasure being a member of such a great forum.
