Great thread to read, and I'm glad you managed to get some photo's of what you wanted.  :)

Definitely means I can now use my Christmas present Coaches without having to shout Rule 1 everytime lol.

Really good chat and extremely helpful fellow members :)

They could be extra name board supports.

Mr PJ

Hello,
Unfortunately the recent Farish Class 25 are the old style, with body-side grills, so wouldn't be a suitable candidate for repainting to represent Tamworth Castle. Farish might do a 25/3 one day, but you may have a wait...
The recent Farish models are excellent, and I am sure you could justify one of these quite easily without too much modeller's licence.

Suffice to say that 25s almost certainly must have hauled some NSE stock at times other than railtours. The Cambrian summer Saturday trains often had NSE Mk1s ("cobbler" sets) in their formation. Although during 1986 these were all booked for 37's, 25's did make appearances on Wolverhampton to Shrewsbury portions, or occasional failures. I would imagine they would have handled some ECS to/from Euston formed of these sets (will keep looking for some photographic evidence....).

25's did last long enough to haul a variety of other sectorisation era stock. On Derby Sulzers there are pictures of 25037 and 201 in 1986 hauling a Paddington to Pwheli Railtour formed of an Intercity livery MK1 railtour set.
The last ever Class 25 passenger hauled passenger train involved 25035 hauling a dead 47 and Provincial livery Mk2 coaches in March 1987.

Cheers
Paul

All being well Santa's bringing me both the Class 25 & The Network Southeast Coaches from the Captial Connection set :)

I will be purchasing another body to try this on as I really don't want the possibility of damaging a present. Thank you all again for your input this is definitely something I will be looking into but leaving of the 'BR Big Logo' as I think that just is totally uncalled for and the photo @Crooked Spire posted make's a 100% case not to add it.

This is even more validity to running a Class 25 on my layout as it's based in South Wales which for me is near enough North West Wales.

Thank you everyone for the input I honestly sincerely appreciate the input you have all supplied  :beers:

Looks like some is purchasing Intercity Coaches also  :bounce:

Mr PJ

Just to add that Class 25's regularly performed in South Wales, hauling Crewe to Cardiff services - albeit only occasionally after the 33's took over (but they did substitute from time to time, particularly on Sundays). Freight over the Marches was also regularly handled by 25's as far as Margam almost until the demise of the class.

NSE livery stock was often used on specials and weekend extras from Paddington to South Wales, so is equally justified.

Good luck with the modelling!

This make the Class 25 & Coaches fit in perfectly for my layout. Llanrumney isn't to far from Cardiff Central either.

Thank you and be sure to check out my Layout only 31 inches by 14 but hey it's a layout lol  :beers:
