Having spotted the 25% off all non NGS bits and pieces offer in the NGS Shop I thought I'd take the opportunity to grab myself some suitable bits and pieces to detail up some of my GWR locos (ideal for my Union Mills models).

Primarily I'm after GWR loco lamps and crews but there seem to be a few choices so I was wondering if anyone had any views on them or have used them on their locos?

For loco lamps, there's a Dornaplas Kits set (DPK101 - GWR LOCO LAMPS JEWELLED WHT (5) ) or the PD Marsh Loco Details set (PDM002) I've spotted so far.

Crew wise, there's the Langley Models loco crew (driver + fireman) that's only £1.75 , but there's also a £7 PD Marsh crew set. The latter is confusing as the NGS item says PDM148 Loco Crew - Driver & Fireman (2) (X48) but on the PD Marsh website, their Loco Crew set is 3 each of driver and fireman, which would explain the price difference.

I have several packs of the Farish 1950s train crew in my cupboard............

I believe the Springside and Dornaplas items are one and the same...

I would recommend those over the PD Marsh ones. They are closer to scale and come ready painted.
