Dr Al

Hi,

Has anyone had successful contact with DCC supplies in the last week? I can get no response from them - in particular regarding an order for a considerable quantity that has yet to be delivered despite being paid for over a week back (and 3-5 days delivery quoted), and has given no note of dispatch (usually they do). Even their web contact form doesn't appear to work the same as it used to....used to send a confirmation of receipt, but I'm not getting that either.

Cheers,
Alan

If Dr Al is online he may be able to provide a more comprehensive answer.

Went there last week.

Disappointingly limited N gauge items other than locos and rolling stock.

No idea why you are having contact problems but their website says they are open from noon to 18:00 today.

Dr Al

Thank you Dave. I've no idea either - they are usually very quick and reliable - I emailed yesterday, and used their online contact form aswell.

I'll phone when I can get time away to do so I think.

Cheers,
Alan

I spoke on Monday and got a delivery yesterday.

I think they were overwhelmed post TINGS and just catching up. :D

Still no response, to 3 different methods of contact. Starting to get somewhat dischuffed now  >:( - 10 days after paying (so 5 days late now), no goods, no contact and no money. Other folks have had stuff sent since then (e.g. Snowwolf above).

Will be phoning them first thing Monday morning.....

Cheers,
Alan

I've been in contact earlier in the week, by telephone but they are totally out of stock of Digitrax dz126 decoders :( as are everyone else bar one outlet wanting £3 more per decoder than everyone else...

I've got a couple in stock, yours for just £2.99 more than the going rate ;)

Dr Al

As an update to this, I phoned over a week ago to be told that part of the order was out of stock. I'm not sure if they would ever have told me, or simply let it sit.

I told them to ship the items in stock, and refund the difference (100 quid).

I received those items a few days later, but have still to receive the refund despite 2 further phonecalls, the last of which had them saying the refund would be done that day. It's 5 days after that day now. I've rather given up on phoning (why should I at my expense?) and opened a Paypal dispute.

So be warned - their website is not up to date in terms of stock levels, so they may sell stuff out from under you, and if so, good luck getting a refund.

Cheers,
Alan

I ordered a part from them a couple of years ago, but realised that I didn't actually need it a couple of hours later. I cancelled the order immediately and they acknowledged the cancellation quickly afterwards.
Getting the PayPal refund was another matter - took a couple of weeks and only after several emails and telephone calls. The excuse was that there is only one person who can authorise refunds and they were away on business.
That was for an order of about £10!!!!
Yet on the other hand, they repaired one of my Class 22's (the one from the milk tanker set) and they were very swift and efficient and it has run beautifully since.

I can confirm from personal experience that there is/has been only one individual that can do the 'accounting stuff'.

Not encouraging though when for whatever reason a refund takes more than 5 working days.

As previously mentioned, a recent visit there revealed a very limited selection of N gauge items to choose from other than Dapol locos and rolling stock. I'm told that getting deliveries of N Gauge stock 'isn't easy'. A bit disappointing, especially as it is my local model railway shop.

I can confirm, having talked to Fiona at the Dapol open day this last weekend, that they are out of Digitrax DZ--- 6-pin decoders.

However she was able to sell me three of the Dapol decoders, which appear to be identical decoders that are not packaged.

Their telephone was working yesterday when I enquired about a repair I thought they'd dispatched.  Forget phoning Monday after they've been to a show- that applies to a few other retailers I can think of also.
