Hi all,
apologies if I should have been able to find this elsewhere, but I seem to remember that one of our members was making replacement battery boxes / fuel tanks for poole locos.
I'm after a tank / battery box for a class 25/3 and before looking at boxing in the sides only one on the loco I thought I'd see if my recollection was correct, and if it is, are there any available.

Hi Alan tis I

I haven't yet made a mould for the the 25 boxes but have considered making them. Now that my workshop is now pretty much up and running, if there is a reasonable demand for them to cover the cost of materials then it shall be done.

Hi David,

I hadn't gone senile then

I'll keep an eye out for further developments.

as a matter of interest, how many 'units' would you need to sell to make it, or any other similar item, viable ?

Mr Sprue

It really depends on how much I could get for each unit and of course quantity, going by the 47 boxes I made the materials used totaled to only about about £22.00. But the time used to machine and make the mould cases is around 4 or so hours.

There is of course the element that I enjoy engineering and pattern making, labour charges have not been included so I guess I wouldn't be giving up my day job so to speak.

Dr Al

Can you not get this from BR Lines - part number 371-25BB?
