The NGS Newsletter has a short piece under the heading Sad news that tells of the passing of the W.Wales wagon works proprieter Michael Martin last November. The website is being closed in May so one can assume the business will now close.

Regrettably I never purchased any of his wagons, or the Mathieson ones which I understand are no more.

Are these small enterprises something the NGS might consider acquiring?   I reckon they would be quite an impressive addition to the societies sales portfolio, and could be an added attraction to joining the NGS.

What do others think?

I think it's no bad idea even if, rather than buy the enterprises, the NGS bought any stock to be able to pass on to their members. It would be entirely their decision where any profits went to.
