I have bought one or two mainly "Model rail" i know there are others but why do you read them do they warrent the £4 odd price tag? Discuss.

I only get one every now and then as i find the info a little the same. i guess my little knowledge of full size rail i'd be better off buying some full size rail mags

It all depends if they have an article that catches my eye...

I like the hornby mag when they do their planing projects. And draw up some real good track plans to compliment it

I get Model Rail (on subscription) and it arrives in the post - but as I'm in the US it takes a good two weeks to arrive so the news is old and I've read it all on here before I get Model Rail...

I get it mainly for the model / layout pics.  I think the photography in MR is superb and they do show some excellent layouts.  They also do some very nice how-to articles that are generally applicable to N gauge.  These are the reasons I spend the annual subscription.

I do get the occasional bit of news that I haven't heard on here, but not 4-quids' worth.

I generally get Railway Modeller but have a look through it first. If I'm lucky there's some N gauge in it, but I do like the adverts and the exhibition/swapmeet info too.

Tend to look through them first and then if there are articles that interest me I'll buy them.
Bought the current RM for the  freebie on the cover ,already built (cheap Xmas present for my grandson) who will probably have destroyed it by the end of January 2012.
Modelling stupid small scale using T gauge track and IDl induction track. Still have  N gauge but not the space( Japanese Trams) Excuse spelling errors please, posting on mobile phone

Hi,

I used to buy Railway Modeller on a monthly basis but haven't bought any for a while. I buy the odd copy of Model Rail and Continental Modeller if they have anything of interest.

There are no English language Japanese magazines for me but plenty of stuff on the American side.

I did get a 12 month sub to Model Rail for my 50th, I do like many of their articles even if they don't cover my specific interests and having spoken to the editor (Ben Jones) they seem very keen on what we are doing on  :NGF: and were very keen to support our raffle, so big  to model Rail

I get Railway Modeller on subscription from the UK which comes via Switzerland for some odd reason and is usually 3 weeks after the UK edition came out.

I also get Model Railroader which is pretty cheap on subscription here, they do have some pretty good articles and how-tos
