Tackleberry

I've not posted for a long time on here, anyway finally got a new girlfriend (nearly a few years ago now), and had a few job and car changes since then (you may remember that I bought a Ford Fiesta last time), anyway changed that for a 2.5 V6 MG ZT and got a new job truck driving but still no closer to building a layout.....
Now things are almost settled in life thought has turned once again to building a layout.
My initial thoughts were to build a Freightliner terminal (spend a lot of time down at Southampton with work - pics will reveal why) but then I read a magazine with an advert for power station buildings, and also bought Hornby Magazine yearbook.

The last issue of Rail Express (December 2015) has a BIG modelling section focused on container terminals including pictures of smaller terminals eminently suitable for modelling. Definitely worth checking out if this of interest.

Bachmann have created a superb OO "ready to plant" container crane, which you can see in detail at RMWeb if you scroll down...

Whether it'll be shrink-rayed down to N remains to be seen. On the other hand, PDMarsh have lots of kits for container terminals that look pretty good to me!

I'm guessing http://www.imdb.com/character/ch0005086/

unfortunately as with all franchises, it lost its appeal after the 4th!

You want to become one with the gun. Feel the gun, caress the gun until it's a living, breathing, vibrating extension of yourself.

Of course your name could be Tackleberry  ;D welcome back anyhoo and glad life is on the up for you

Also considering a steam based layout - either something based on the Lambourn Valley Railway or the Didcot, Newbury and Southampton Railway..... ;)
