My fellow N Gauge Forum members.

It's 0741 on 25 December 2015, Christmas Day in New Zealand, the first country in the world to celebrate the occasion, so...

May I wish all my fellow N Gauge Forum members A MERRY CHRISTMAS, with the hope that you will have a great Christmas Day, and a happy and enjoyable New Year.

Joe C:

Clever, but not so wrong: although it IS the middle of Summer on the lower reaches of the globe, snow on Christmas Day is actually not so unusual, especially down towards the bottom of the South Island.  It's a hazard of living close to the South Pole. When the winds come north it can be VERY cold.

However, FWIW, it's currently raining outside and expected to be only 22 degrees C.  The traditional description of an English summer: 'That was last Thursday - it rained',  does come  to mind as a result...

Best wishes to all Kiwis whether on the forum or not, a small
nation with a big punch especially in WW1 and WW2 and also
to the Aussies who we always remember with affection.

To be called pompous and arrogant - hell of a come down.
I tried so hard to be snobbish and haughty.

Merry Christmas, from one sad bloke who goes online on Christmas morning to all you other sad people who are reading this!

May your gears never split nor your couplings break.  Have a great day.

Nah, compared to what I've seen walking down Collins Street and in deepest, darkest Gippsland, us Kiwi's are mere amateurs  in the Beer Gut stakes...  :P

(Just saying... :) :) )

Just another day here, did manage a lie in until 10.30, no entry phone blasts from deliveries and no House manager checking if we residents are still alive and kicking. The swelling on me right foot has gone down enough to get me slipper on and I can almost walk without a stick. The view out the window is dark dank and miserable.

Roll on tomorrow when I may be able to put the radio on without endless carols.

Bah Humbug at maximum. At least I have food and warmth and a PC. Who knows, I may even get my annual call from a cousin in Taunton; nothing from 4 kids, dozen grandkids and at least half a dozen great grandkids that I know of.
Cheers MIKE

Blimey! Well, Dorsetmike, a heartfelt "Merry Christmas" to you, from a modeller who has been inspired by you to get out of his comfort zone and try new things, even if they're not quite Pendon standard yet!

Try and enjoy the day as best you can, even if that means opening up a bottle of sherry and counting down the hours until the Queen's Speech!

Cheers, NeMo

I'll stick with mead or alcoholic ginger beer thanks, as for queen's speech that would mean moving the TV from the floor in a corner where it has been since I moved here back end of March and plugging it in. Last time I watched anything on it was New years Eve 2014, Jools Holland.

I'm contemplating using it as a 32" monitor instead of my current 23" monitor if I can make space on the desk.
Cheers MIKE

Its 39 years since I celebrated a Christmas in New Zealand....Wellington....it rained. A heck of a lot.
Modelling today has been the 'Dark Side'; detailing a Hornby J15 which was my main present. But I did re-glue a platform that had lifted on the layout.

Best wishes and Happy Modelling for the New Year.
