Thanks for the posting.

The song was written by Laurie Say and sung by him accompanied by The Islanders!

I heard and watched them perform the song at The Sloop Inn in Wootton Isle of Wight, many years ago. (possibly 50 years ago?)

At the same time I purchased their EP which included "The Hovercraft"  song plus 2 others, I still have it somewhere???

As Bing Crosby would have sung, "Thanks for the Memories"!

Being an islander myself Peter I can still remember my old Nan god bless her singing that song back in the sixties!

It was only through my sisters partner putting the song on Facebook that I came across it. There's another youtube video on the web of a big gathering singing at the pier head.
