Sorry to hear your news, Bob. I know how you feel as my brother succumbed to cancer. I too went to see him and was shocked that he looked just like my grandfather. However, like your brother, he was glad to see me and we had a good chat. He too kept drifting off to sleep but we both enjoyed the visit.
The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss it's never easy but at least you made the right decision to go and visit him .
I lost my Dad when I was nearly 18 he went  into hospital  with a  Dudenal ulcer  I was told it was a minor operation I Hated hospitals so didn't visit him he died  from complications and I've always regretted not going in to see him .

So sorry about your loss Bob. I lost my youngest sister to cancer in March and, regrettably, did not get there before she left us. But at least, we have our memories of happier times. David.

What was really special, was the meal all us brothers and sisters (with partners and a few assorted other family members) had together in August. My younger sister came across from Canada for a few days.

We managed to get a waiter to take pictures, and the smile on my brothers face, at having us all together, is priceless.

Seriously, that brings a lump to your throat. As I said earlier Bob, we have our memories. David.
