I've been trying to place an order online, yesterday and today, with no luck.

keeps coming up as 'unknown error. INVALID TXN' whatever that is.

had a chat with them this morning and they are aware and are trying to fix.

tried again this afternoon and still the same, but when I chatted again, I was told it does NOT seem to be affecting orders placed as a guest, only ones placed after logging in.

don't know if anyone else has had the same problem, but if they have maybe ordering as a guest might work.

Exactly the same problem for me last night. Tried to order two locos and came up with same error as you. Tried several times but same problem. Then received email acknowledging receipt of order for one of the two locos!!! What!!!
The transaction went right through the Halifax Secure credit card check before the error came up. I thought my card might have been hacked.
Wasn't happy about what was going on so cancelled the order for the single loco and ordered from Rails of Sheffield instead. They need to sort this out quick - I really don't like glitches like this when online credit card transactions are involved.
:veryangry: :beers:
Size matters - especially if you don't have a lot of space - and N gauge is the answer!

Eeeek ! and  "several times" ? you have checked with them that there are not several acknowledging emails on the way to you or vanishing into that unknown demonic place, soon to be followed by a multitude of locos ??
,
yes, quite right, very unwanted glitches !

Malcolm, I'm more worried about a multitude of credit card charges!!! I won't know for a couple of days when I can check my online statement. Hmm can I trust that statement??
I'm sure(ish) it'll be ok. :hmmm: :beers:

good point about the chances of multiple orders  :worried:

got on to my card provider and they confirmed that although the Hattons site showed the orders as getting as far as the card security site, nothing showed on the bank's system as even attempting to charge the order.

so I have no idea what was happening, and it looks as though Hattons don't either.

Did any of you order a box full of Dapol class 27s as we might know where they are? :-X

You come into £ then Bob ordering loads?
Another house move despite "never again" has given me a second floor layout so Geominster Mainline & Heritage Line will be modified and enlarged with siding storage.

My Facebook Diary is Geominster if anyone wants to view it please ask, it is a private group requiring acceptance, thanks.

This then is my third version modified which has been improved from previous efforts and lessons learned.

Geominster was my first project which has now been dismantled. Having learnt so much from  previous Geominster projects this is the latest one.

just two locos George - I've been saving my pocket money. Once the Hattons order crashed I just ordered one loco from Rails of Sheffield - a blue Tornado.
My treat for working the last few months up to my SECOND retirement from work - this time for good.
Should now have loads of time for working on the layout and doing other stuff.
Looking forward to final retirement now.

Love the Blue Tornado Bob, nice runner. Second retirement? I just went to Agency today as bored and could do with a few extra £ till next September when Govt will return my input over the years! I have so much time on my hands I get nothing done except wreck Geominster and start rebuilding. When you finish?

I had the same error on Saturday and Sunday in the end I gave up and ordered one of the items from Rails of Sheffield, only trouble is I am still waiting for it. I think Hattons have lost out over the weekend by the look of it, they need to sort the site out, I have had a few problems like this since they updated the site, I think it was last year.

My new layout  East Lancashire Railway
My old layout was Irwell Valley Railway.
Layout previous was East Lancashire Lines, changed this new one. My new layout here.

Thanks for the offer George but baseboards are all done. Also I've completed all the mimic panels and tested them. Next step is track laying which I made a half hearted attempt to start a couple of months ago. Plenty to do George, just need to get motivated to start the track laying.
Shame about the Hattons problem. I always rated them highly but starting to worry about their current service after this problem and other problems reported on the Forum. Time will tell!!

The only gripe I have had with Hattons is they will not combine postage, they sell something they post it I pay, they will not put an out of stock item on same order, their answer being well order when in stock but the item we have in stock may have sold out, they will not set it aside. So I end up with two postage charges. I know they are big but they still need to remember that Customer Service is paramount or they will not be so big.
You will soon be motivated Bob, by everyone on here!
