Owing to the demise of my Trumpeter Bismarck project which is now at the bottom of the sea. http://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?topic=29944.msg338338#msg338338
I have now ordered a Trumpeter BR52 German armoured loco kit which is a tad smaller, more manageable, railway orientated and looks like a load of fun. Delivery in the next 2 or three weeks. Will keep you all posted on progress as the build progresses.
:D :D :D :D :claphappy: :beers:
Size matters - especially if you don't have a lot of space - and N gauge is the answer!

You're in Farnborough - shouldn't it be a flying machine Bob?  ???
"When in trouble, when in doubt, run (trains) in circles..." etc.
There, doesn't that feel better?
Lovely!

I may appear to be listening to you, but inside my head, I'm playing with my trains.

I believe they do although I haven't done any research to confirm it.

Now I've gone the whole hog and bought a complete set of photo etch detailing kits for this Loco from Edouard in the Czech Republic - £48 roughly converted from Euros.

Just had a look at their website. You could make a whole train. infact you could make several. Shame 1;35 doesn't match any model railway scale.

You're right of course. The scale is huge and there is a lot of stuff to get your teeth into. It's a shame there doesn't seem to be any UK outline locomotives.

The kit and detail etches haven't arrived yet as they come from Germany and Czech Republic respectively. However I'm just perusing the best way to glue the brass etches to plastic. CA will do it quite easily but you don't get a lot of time to readjust alignment before the glue sets. Epoxy is a pain as you either have to use quick setting which means, as it takes time to attach small etches, you have to continually mix up tiny amounts of glue and hardener. The longer time setting epoxy means you have to be very careful not to knock the brass etches you've already attached out of alignment.
Any ideas for other alternative glues which don't leave a mess, don't need mixing and give sufficient, but not excessive, time for adjustment?

I know you have already ordered your kit but if you want more try Hannants they are UK based and have most of the range in stock for quick delivery.
As to a suitable adhesive this should fit :- Loctite® Stik'n Seal® Extreme Conditions it sticks most things and has a 5 minute set time but holds instantly.

Thanks Diane. I'll check out Hannants for future projects. I tend to get stuff via Amazon cos I always have done - lazy old me. The photo etch detailing is from Edouard in the Czech Republic. I've seen odd bits and pieces in the UK but you can get the complete range from them direct.
Loctite Stick'n Seal I will definitely check out - could be just the job. Thanks for the lead

Just checked out the Stick'n Seal and it requires one surface to be porous so I'm not sure if it will work. I might buy some and check it out on a bit of sprue to see if it works ok. - Its not expensive so worth a try.
Thanks again

Were the brass etches part of the kit or extras bought separately?

I've just checked out that Hannants site. You're right they've got an incredible range including all the Eduard detailing I've ordered.
Just put the site on my favourites.
Thank you - Thank you - Thank you
