Hi,  In case anyone was wondering where their latest subscription was, (on the other forum Grahame Hedges was asking where is it now ),   fortunately, I was able to get to the Wigan Exhibition last weekend and whilst there, met Howard and Robin, the team behind N Gauge Now.  Obviously my first question was 'where's my subscription issue no. 4?' which was going to be due in time for TINGS.  The latest issue is on it's way to the printers, unfortunately Robin has been seriously ill, with a long period of hospitalisation followed by an operation last week, and Howard has been trying to get the magazine sorted.  After speaking to them both I could tell that they were passionate about the magazine and came away thinking ' who in their right mind would want to start a publication for such a narrow window of railway modellers'.  So my hat off to the both of them and I wish them every success with the magazine, and also hope that Robin is able to return to as near to full health as possible.
Regards, Ken.

It begs two questions;

  • Did they not update their website to say this ?
  • If they did - does no-one bother to go there & check ?

Thanks for the update Ken.
Looking forward to Issue 4.
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

Although I'm not a subscriber (I got the first issue and have to admit I wasn't very impressed) I agree with Mike that they should have tried to put something up on their website to explain the delay. It is good business practice.

Illness strikes us all and most people are sympathetic and will be patient, if they know what is going on.

For all we know Robin might also be the website man, so would have been unable to update it.

At the end of the day they are trying to put together a magazine, and various difficulties are trying to stop them. Just got to keep the faith and hope it arrives soon.

It's a huge undertaking, and although a little frustrating that they have been late in sending issues out (personally it doesn't bother me), I feel that it's wonderful to have a dedicated magazine for our hobby that's independent.  We are such a small market, so it's great that they are able to do this.

The one thing that's frustrated me is that the four emails that I've sent them have been missed, or perhaps haven't reached their destination. :-\

That was what I thought too, let's not forget they don't have a team of people and the resources behind them that the major magazines have ;)
