Every day its looking more like I need to clear the train room and return it into youngest sons bedroom. There isn't going to be time to sell everything via auction rooms or N`porium. Its going to need  an instant (nearly)  bulk sale
Im guessing that I will try and save less than 5% of stock etc.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a firm that buys complete stocks etc. please
I intend to try and keep it all obviously but we have run out of room in our small home  :'(

Rails and Hattons both buy second-hand stock.

I fully recommend KJB Models.  Tell them I sent you if you go via them.  Katie and Martin are good to deal with, and I sold loads of my loco's to them last year.

I`m not going to rush into anything but need to start getting addresses etc together in readiness for the near inevitable

No chance of your storing in the loft or similar ?

Calnefoxile

Jon,

Rather than selling it all, is there anyone who could store you items for you?? Even maybe someone on here who lives near you??

It would be a shame to sell it all on after you've taken the time to and money to collect it all and selling it in bulk will mean that you won't realise anywhere near it's actual worth.

Cheers

Neal.

I'm sure you won't rush into any decision to sell - please take your time.
It really would be a shame to sell up if you can possibly avoid it.

Martin
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

N Gauge Society used to buy collections.
Not sure how they are positioned currently for this with the shop in some sort of unstable mode.

To be called pompous and arrogant - hell of a come down.
I tried so hard to be snobbish and haughty.

Unfortunately no. Our chalet type house means the upstairs rooms are built in the roof space with sloping ceilings which virtually take up any loft space
My workshop in the garage has long been annexed as storage space and the garage is likewise  dual purpose
One glimmer of light is that the couple are booked in for counselling next week so things may get resolved eventually

Speaking entirely personally, when I was at the stage counselling was needed, I bloody well moved into my own "apartment" (all 18sqm of it, well this is Japan, it was almost luxurious...), and I managed to find space to hang on to my OO collection including track (this was a few years before I discovered N). If the tables were turned (hah), I'm sure my parents would say "sure, you can come and live with us, as long as you're OK with sleeping under the layout".

I know relatives are supposed to look after each other but, quite frankly, I'm appalled at what is being inflicted on you, Jon >:(
I'd best not say anything further, other than 'Good Luck with whatever you do', for fear of raising your blood pressure. :zippedmouth:

I commented on my posting this thread at home and was nearly lynched. Riots are threatened also so its back to square 1 with Ruleshire  progressing on an 'as & when' project
I`ll keep this thread up and running but stagnate in case of the help given by posts here and by PM are a help for others
In the meantime
