I have been working on this for some time. I have just been testing a windscreen method. This is one of my prototypes.

Just looked at Glue 'n Glaze and will look at getting some to try.

You can use G&G for the windscreen / Windows, or to glue small bits of clear packaging into the frames. The former is the easier!

Don't forget to paint the edge of the frame black first ( rubber surround )

DELETED

I used rocket card glue for my crew truck.  OK, maybe not as good and it was tedious and the film broke a few times but it didn't warrant buying another product.  I just wonder whether a teeny drop of detergent would have helped form the film...

I didn't find the Dornaplas kit an easy build.  I tried spare clear sheet but for the likes of the cab, it was just too small for me to cut accurately / apply neatly so I tried using the glue.  The windscreen's the only real dodgy result, but I would know how to do it better next time.  Of course, if you don't have the rocket card glue handy then why not buy the proper glue and glaze!

Thanks for your inputs. It's all just as well modelling cars of 70's and 80's, because you can certainly see a few of these lurking around the place. The only problem is that my layout is based on sort of post 2000-ish (basically it's modelled on the modern day (2010-2014+)). So, anything like Fiestas, Vauxhalls, even Land Rovers/Range Rovers would be good. There certainly is a shortage of N gauge modern image cars, and I really think it needs addressing. Thanks for your suggestions and opinions anyway guys!
