I need a small amount of machining done to fairly tight tolerances - four bearing supports (around 8mm diameter) and a couple of flywheels, all in brass, for a project that I have in mind.  Will also need a couple of lengths of 1,.5mm steel shaft turning down to 1mm at one end. Anyone out there got a small lathe?  Obviously I'll pay a sensible price for the work - my local machine shop doesn't really do anything this small. Please PM me if you think you can help.

For those who are curious, the plan is to convert a Farish 2MT (and possibly two if the first one works) to tender drive, with a big enclosed flywheel inside a brass tube replacing the original motor (and fitting in the original motor mount), and a cardan shaft to a Mashima or Hanazono motor in the tender. I have a thing about big torquey motors at the moment

I can't help with the lathe but will be keen to see your project as it progresses.

I had a pal who repaired clocks and watches for a hobby. He could have done it, but is sadly no longer with us. Maybe Jonclox is your man, or perhaps a local clock mender.

This is a job I would love to get involved in as I still have 3 lathes in the worship. Unfortunately my health hasn't allowed me to visit the workshop for about 2 years now and I cant foresee  any improvement in the future
