I actually am not amused.

Cover 'em with skin and it's me  ;) ;D

I've never understood why they try and make robots with replica human legs. The video shows how unstable they are, and the technology must be very difficult. Why don't the designers use wheels or caterpillar tracks which are faster, simpler and less prone to giving way? Given sufficient ingenuity they can even be made to climb stairs.  :hmmm:

Looks like excessive use of IPA (of either definition) !!

Actually, the more I read about DCC, automated control and the rest rapidly entering our hobby I do feel that, in some ways, the robots are already in control. :'(

Did anyone watch "Humans" on channel 4? It reminds me of the robin williams film Bicentennial Man

I watched it and could do with a 'Synth' like Anita to do the wiring on my layout :)

I'm not so sure.  I watched the "Asimo" vids a few years ago and a bit taken back / freaked out how capable it was back then.

Has anyone been watching "Humans" on channel 4?

...For me the inspiration is obviously the likes of P.K. Dick etc and it seems blatantly a blend of A.I. / I. Robot and some Bladerunner.  But it's been a good story and well done and not seen such a good series on TV for years now.

I'm absolutely sure this is coming one day.

Sounds like a quote from the hitch hikers guide.  I'm not going to be round long enough but I'd bet the likes of Ash and Bishop will come one day for example.

Hi

So you are ignoring all the research going on regarding Artificial Intelligence then?
