A BIG THANK YOU to Malc!

This Saturday Malc traveled down from Birmingham to my home to help me not only understand better my circuit tester but to fathom out the complexities (In my mind) of using PPI's and LED's in my console.

We shared a lot of laughs, he helped me with my soldering (I have the burn to prove it) and his knowledge of electronics will no doubt be of great value as I blunder along with my layout plans!

Without his input I would still be wondering precisely what to stick in where and why doesn't it work!

My grateful thanks Malc, you are a brick!

Peter.

Glad you're starting to get things sorted out now Peter and thanks to Malc for helping you out with hands on practical advice.
:beers:
Size matters - especially if you don't have a lot of space - and N gauge is the answer!

Malc

Well we certainly had some laughs and put the world to rights. Must thank Susan for a lovely lunch and Ditto for my bit of exercise for the day. Before anyone says anything, Ditto is a very friendly Dalmatian.
The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.

Caz

Well done Malc, this is what this friendly forum is all about, helping each other whenever, we all have some expert skills and it is great to share.       :admiration:

Unfortunately, I don't fly Ryan Air.  :D

If you want to pay first class on KLM or BA from BHX, that's a different matter.

I read the thread title and author and expected a layout using apples and pears for tunnels. :-[

The Big Apple. So good - they posted it twice :D

And then there were three!  :-*
Another house move despite "never again" has given me a second floor layout so Geominster Mainline & Heritage Line will be modified and enlarged with siding storage.

My Facebook Diary is Geominster if anyone wants to view it please ask, it is a private group requiring acceptance, thanks.

This then is my third version modified which has been improved from previous efforts and lessons learned.

Geominster was my first project which has now been dismantled. Having learnt so much from  previous Geominster projects this is the latest one.

Latest Youtube video is here.

As the author, you should be able to remove one of the posts, George, and then everyone will wonder what the hell I'm on :laugh3:

You should know a moderator can do the same Mick and if it makes you look silly even better  :claphappy:

Lol Mick, it happened because I got a message someone had posted since I tried and it was my post so it got in twice!

I think that it's fantastic that forum members can help each other out like that. I am at a very remote distance from the birthplace of this forum, but have met members on two visits to the UK, and narrowly missed meeting Malc and Scotsoft. I still hold hope that may yet still happen.

In the meantime, I'm glad Malc showed you what to stick in where and get it to work, Peter.  :D

Thank you.

This is what I am trying to do at the moment and Malcolm conveyed to me the way to do it in simple terms that I could understand.

OK it isn't the prettyist of cable runs, but this is the first time I have ever attempted such things!

[smg id=27749 type=preview align=center caption="SAM 4770"]

I WILL be trying to tidy things up a bit but once I have figured iout the cable run and screwed then in, I am unwilling to undo them all again!!!

Regards, Peter.
