While looking around the rear yard at home the other day I thought..

"...a shed would look good in that corner...mmm...could get rid of the big daft plastic box that houses the kids bikes and at the same time create a "man cave"..."

Later that day I mentioned it in conversation with my wife.  The reply I hoped for was "Yes..great idea.  Somewhere to keep the bikes, the garden tools and a very other bits"...the reply I got was..."No...sheds look big, daft, so no..."...

Well...we will see about that!

It's all a matter of negotiation with 'The Authorities'.
You know it makes sense but trying to find the most logical reasons always escaped me in front of SWMBO

Domestic planning permission...a classic and often thorny situation. Even at our lowly shed for the railway level, it's often a case of having to commit to building/providing something for her indoors, SWMBO, or the boss even if this fits lol

Not dissimilar to a house builder wanted to build xxx number of houses. The local authority may stipulate that the builder pays e.g road access improvements. It's can be a hard World, even inside of your front door !  lol

Well...no developments yet but the seed is planted.

I have plenty of "bribes" up my sleeve having done a huge amount of domestic chores this last week or so due to my wife having damaged shoulder tendons, there are two expensive foreign holidays booked for next year (..me I'm happy with a week in the UK) and the "clincher" will be..."I can move all my railway stuff in to it out of the dining room"......

The rear yard isn't very big but I do believe a nice 6x4ft shed would look perfect in the corner!

I reckon it would be great, too.

To be honest, I can't understand the logic. Mowing grass has to be the most useless endeavour known to humankind (the instant it's chopped, it just comes back with a vengeance).

A shed would instantly reduce that problematic area.

Grass? Who needs that stuff? You want green in yer yard? Paint yer concrete. Solved!

Mowing grass...pour some cheap alcohol on it, it come up half cut.  (the old ones are the best!)
