.....well we have 'happy thread' and an 'angry thread'  but any sadness just gets lost in the general chaos of  General  Discussion so I thought I would start a 'sad thread' for our losses (RIP) and disappointments in life.  :'(

I`m sad today because its just been confirmed that my GP of nearly 30 years is retiring at the end of this month.
Without him I`m certain that I would have been pushing up daisies for several years now. Theres been times when Ive moaned about him but this now seems like the end of an era and to be honest there isn't another GP in the practice that I can trust as much as I have trusted him

A great shame, Jon, as a knowledgeable and trusted GP is something very hard to find. Something I am rapidly learning with the GP I'm with and, once my current health probs are sorted, will be seeking another practice.

I can sympathise with you both, but fortunately as a diabetic, with a high BP and men's problems, I am, by the sound of it, very lucky in having a choice of 4 excellent GPs in my practice.
The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.

My lady doctor was about to give me the "drinking too much" lecture when I mentioned that the last time I saw her was at the local real ale festival, "ah no point in mentioning that then" was an excellent response! Good girl

Im sad today, because after nearly 40 years my teddy bear Rufus has left me, as he can not be found anywhere in the house.

Here's hoping he's just gone walk-about and will be home when he's hungry.  ;)

Dunno what I'd do without my Rupert -we've been together for 67 years!

Sorry to hear that. My Fred Bear has been with me for 58 years.
Hope Rufus turns up (he hasn't crawled into the washing machine, has he?)
