Dose anyone feel that Bachmann has missed an opportunity this year by not supplying there collectors club members with an limited edition model as all 3 models where 00 witch is a shame

NO, because there HAVE been N gauge member only limited editions released during 2014....

The triple pack of WD tankers was released August 2014...

The VIP modern tank wagon was released April or May 2014...

The Royal train sleeping car was delivered Jan/Feb 2014 though admittedly it should have been late 2013...

Perhaps the Witch has cast a spell which has affected your short term memory? 

I think what grates and what TBS is referring to, is that there were 3 OO announcements with this issue of the mag and nothing new in N. Feel a bit of a poor relation sometimes with what OO models are released compared to what we are offered in N although it does seem that N models don't sell as well. The black 5 is still available together with the intercity 08 as are various annual subscription wagons.

If you want better choice, then what is produced must sell well - and if it's only selling so-so at best, there will be less interest in putting out the quantities / range to us compared to what does sell ...

Someone mentioned in another thread that the current N locos aren't selling well and I agree they don't seem to be but I wonder if this is due to poor selection by Bachmann?

There is nothing inherently special about a black 5 in late crest livery. Much of what is offered in OO has not been made available in N despite tooling being available.

The commemorative wagon sets? The single Graham Farish box van sold out in N but we didn't get the other triple packs.

What about the blue CR fairburn? The KWVR red 2MT tank? The BR red 2MT? The LNER apple green  47? Unusual liveries which have that 'must own' wow factor. Another BR Black 4-6-0? Meh...

Tornado in factory grey? Maybe missed the boat now that the initial excitement has died down.

It may be that Bachmann view specialist liveries as having a too limited appeal in N but imho, it's those liveries that actually make them more desirable!
