Hi Everyone, has anybody changed the couplings on the tomix cleaning car to the buckeye type, if so could you tell me how you did it and was it successful.

Generally I push the cleaning car round in front of the loco, so it doesn't matter about the couplings. That way the loco doesn't run on dirty track.
The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.

Some days its just not worth gnawing through the straps.

As an aside to this, I have no experience of the Tomix track cleaner. Can you chaps please tell me how it fits within the loading gauge, as I have a lot of track in tunnel, also how does it fit through platforms?

It is out of gauge re UK stuff but does pass platforms and the tunnels on my layout. HOWEVER my tunnel mouths are from scalescenes so may be larger than RTR stuff.

Just measured it its 20mm wide at the bottom and 33mm  in height from rail level to the top of the switch on the roof. The width at roof level is 15mm.
Hope this helps.
