port perran

Just spent a really, really nice couple of days with Dennis (QLD-Kid) and his wife Margaret who have come over to UK from Aussie for 9 weeks or so.
It was really nice to meet up and I hope that Dennis & Margaret had a good time at the Hayle show yesterday and at the Bodmin & Wenford Railway today (despite the downpour).   I trust that they also enjoyed their real Cornish Pasty and will enjoy the rest of their stay over here.
Sorry Dennis that your N gauge "Big Boy" was a little out of gauge on my Port Perran layout (too long/wide for the bridges) where it did look a little incongruous alongside my 14XX !!
Anyway, I gather that they may well meet up with Mick (Newport Nobby) at the Wigan show in a couple of weeks.

Dennis at the Bodmin & Wenford today. Enjoy the rest of your visit and take it easy.

I'm looking forward to meeting Denis & Margaret in 2 weeks time, along with the other part of the Antipodean contingent, Bealman (if he's allowed out of his care home, that is) :D

I made sure that Dennis & Margaret are well aware that under no circumstances should Cornish pasties contain carrots !!

Great to see my mate enjoying himself

:envy: of his visit to the UK. The vast amount of UK heritage sites and shows is one of the few things I miss being out here.
