The Transits have been in the era area of the Oxford website for about a month but without pictures. Do you know if they will be the standard Transit rather than the high top long wheelbase?

Another question please. Slightly off topic but, as Paul Daniels would say "Not a lot"

My new small layout is based loosely in Bedfordshire in about 1964 and I'd really appreciate some advice as to which of the Oxford Diecast coaches/buses would be suitable for that time period/location.

Hi javlinfaw7 I only have the list. Images will be available in early June when the catalogue is released. Hopefully the new Transits will be the short wheelbase low roof version, and I hope too that the RAC van will have roof beacons.

Mick I think a green Bristol Lodekka is what you need.

Seems a strange choice of all the nice stuff in the OO range, it is only in 1 livery in OO from what I can see.

Thanks Mike.
The Lodekka seems to be too far west (just going by description) in the 1950/1960 sections. :hmmm:
As for the coaches, I just haven't a clue which of them ran where ??? :dunce:

Mick I think a green Bristol Lodekka is what you need.

I see I might have confused things. Bristol made the Lodekka which was used by fleets across Britain. The United Counties Bristol Lodekkas were dark green with a cream stripe so you just need to change the fleetname and destination blinds to make one suitable for Bedfordshire where UC operated. Coaches are less of a problem as they roam well away from home territory. Just choose a coach operator rather than one owned by a service bus company.

Seeing the name "J&M Murdoch " on the Oxford Scania reminded me of when I was
a trainee accountant and went to their farm near Paisley each month to do the
books. I was given my lunch in the farmhouse kitchen with cats , dogs and chickens
running in and out , in those days they had one truck which was hired out now
and then. Changed days....
