Does anyone know what font/typeface the lettering "DP2" on the side of the DP2 "Deltic" should be...?

(I will be very grateful and deeply impressed if anyone does!)

silly moo

Speaking of fonts, does anyone else think the numerals on the latest Dapol SR Terrier are in the wrong font? I can't find any photographic reference of a SR Terrier with those type of numerals on the tank.

It's a very small issue but it bothered me because I am a graphic designer.

I didn't think I was a rivet-counter but it would seem that now I am. Do I get a special hat or badge?  ;D

I was going to upload the transport and gil sans fonts to the forum, but it wont let me as neither the zip file or the ttf files themselves are on the allowed file types list.

I've done a bit more digging around and (while it can't be the correct font, because it was invented in the 70s!) the closest I've found is ITC Lubalin Graph.

Now, all I need to do is find a way of printing it - white and very small....  :uneasy:

the alternative would to print  a green background with the numbers left clear on either white decal paper or clear decal paper over a white patch on the body.
Though the trick in either case would be to get the shade of green correct.

buy them from  bhe in the fox section

or from fox directly

Instead of guessing of course it may be best to contact the National Railway Museum at York. They would have the answer I'm sure.

I don't believe the font would be any different to any other Pre-TOPS 1962 diesel locomotive.

Or Fox does DP2 decals in the prototype diesel pack - FRH2040N. I knew I'd seen it somewhere 8)
