Roger Daltry is a big model railway fan and I heard on the radio last week that he and a friend are trying to get a National Model Railway Museum funding together, I wonder if it incorporates N Gauge as these rockers always seem to have loads of space for 00 Gauge.

Good Luck to hime but I think he wants it in the south of the country.

"Funding" usually means other people's money. Hope he's not trying to get it from Joe Public, he must have squillions in his piggybank.

I think it is being considered in Ashford?

If he gets this project going he'll be Happy Jack. If he doesn't we won't get fooled again.

Peter,

As long there is a mainline station then that would be good, The German one in Hamburg will take some beating, now that would be great.

A sponsor for the track would be useful.  Tomy, can you hear me? :D

Yes he is one of many significant backers of the Ashford International Model Railway Centre of Excellence lead by Cliff Persons, owner of the Gresley Beat.

All the details are on their website http://www.aimrec.co.uk/

I don't think there are and real concerns regarding the finances; those involved are putting in a substantial amount, but unlike some other famous names don't shout about it...

Will it be a see me, feel me, touch me sort of arrangement?
or will fiddling about be frowned upon?

Rumoured that there will be a "Magic Bus" connection from non rail served areas.

Seriously though it would be nice to see this come to fruition, although I do not see the best gauge mentioned in the prospectus....

Just to enter into the spirit....as long as it doesn't go to the Dogs and they Substitute something else.
