Before I emigrated in 2004 I lived for 17 years in North Wales just outside of Conwy.
One day, can't remember exactly when, just down the road at Llandudno Junction Station there was a gathering of famous old Steam Trains, the last time they would all be seen together, having set off from Crewe, they made a considerable stop at Llandudno Junction before carrying on on to Holyhead and back.

Naturally the event attracted quite a number of interested admirers, me included, and whilst at the Station I took a number of photos. I though I would reproduce those photos below in case some of you on here might be interested in seeing them.

They are old photos shot through a plastic protective cover in an old Album, so the quality is not up to modern standards as I didn't want to remove them from the Album in case they got damaged.

Thank you for taking the time to post your photographs Terry

They must bring back good memories of that day for you.

cheers John.

Beautiful pics! Well worth the time, I'd say. Thank you!  :thankyousign:

Spend as little as possible on what you need so you can spend as much as possible on what you want.

It just occurred to me that from Llandudno Junction trains immediately cross the River Conwy/Conwy Estuary and then pass right by Conwy Castle, all within a Mile.
For someone looking to model a new location it would make a great scenic model, especially if you could create (or buy) a model of Conwy's World Famous castle to go on the layout.

If you go on Google earth and zoom in on the Junction & Conwy you will see what I mean.
I wonder if anyone has actually modeled it already? From where I lived (high on a hill in Llansaffraid Glan Conwy) I had great views of it all, and I worked in Conwy.
