Hi Folks

Well, just had to preorder the Scania T Cab from Hattons, in Stobart livery, and it arrived today.
[smg id=10073]
[smg id=10074]
I'm impressed by it, looks a good representation of the original, and I see they've got other liveries, the Scania Highline and other trailers for preorder.

I hope now they produce other manufacturers cabs, like Volvo, Mercedes, MAN etc.

Cheers, Timmo

Hi

Not sure the T Cab with a long curtain side trailer is a real combination

In the UK and EU trucks have length restrictions and that is why tractor units are cab over engine so the tailer can be an optimum length

I understand the T Cab is a special import as a promotion for Sacnia

They hual short tailers such as cement powder tanks and bulk tippers to comply so the later issue of these models are more the real thing

I am sure someone with more knowledge on the subject can confirm but I may be wrong

I'm not too worried, Stobart only had one T Cab I think.
I think the trailer is a modern version anyway, judging by the fleet
Number on the rear doors, so it's a representation I think.

I'm happy with the model, so I'm not worried, but I am looking forward to the Highlines coming out.

Cheers, Timmo

Yes still a nice model

I have two of the Aoshima Volvo and DAF look a likes but build quality is not great.  The Tomytec ones are nice but not very UK suitable without a bit of work

So I will buy one anyway as well

:beers:

A piece on the real truck!!!!!

"Yes, they bought a Scania T cab from Grahams Commercials in Carlisle in 1997. Stobarts ran it until around 2001/2002, when it was sold to a HGV garage in Scotland, where it has retained is special reg, S777 ESL.
The tractor unit was a 4 x 2 and was really bought as a 'show truck', but it was used on the steel wire contract (with the tippers) and was later moved onto general haulage, working from Carlisle. Edward Stobart liked the look of the tractor unit but didn't like then fact that he couldn't pull a full lenght trailer, and had to buy a special shorter trailer to run it on the gereral haulage.
Stobarts only had the one and operated it from the Carlisle HQ until it was retired from the ESL fleet."

:hmmm:

Never been a fan on these types of tractors, but I'd buy a few trailers.  They've done a great job on the livery.

I am thinking of acquiring one of htese them seperating it to use the trailer in a yard and the tractor unit on its own as I had also read the info about it not hauling the standard trailers. I do have a tractor unit from Stobart which is a keyring that I may be able to use with the trailer instead thinking about it.

Mega pleased to see these and am looking forward to a decent range of models to follow, pleeeease!!!!

Here's some closer views...
[smg id=10075]
[smg id=10076]
[smg id=10077]
[smg id=10078]

And I did compare the length of the trailer to a 45ft container...

Hope this gives you an idea of the shape, proportions and detail levels.

You could always resort to a hacksaw to shorten the trailer!!!!!!

I wonder if Mr Stobart did this to the real thing in the dead of night to keep his favourite unit legal!

That is a great looking model with lots of detail

Its only missing one thing  :hmmm:

Where are the "suzies"   :D

I only drove a t-cab for a week and that was enough for me  :worried:
Couldn't get used to all that metal sticking out in front of me

Give me a Leyland T45 Roadtrain any day  :hmmm:

Completely correct

It's not that it's illegal or anything, but it then comes under "abnormal load" rules which opens up a whole host of restrictions and paperwork! ;)

What I have to say about Mr Stobart and his practices would get me banned in an instant  >:(

All I WILL say is - lovely truck, shame about the livery ;)
