The only person to get their work done by Friday was Robinson Crusoe :D

So.....this evening I have rigged up a single point motor just to see if I could
a) Get the soldering right (I was a little worried about soldering direct onto the Seep motor base)
b) Get the electrical connections in the correct order
c) Connect it to a Gaugemaster Controller auxiliary port

And..........amazingly to me, it all worked. For someone who is a complete soldering novice and an electrical dunce :dunce:, I'm pleased. :claphappy:
Now all I have to do is to fit motors to selected points on my layout (initially I'm doing 7 [in the station area mainly]with another 9 more to follow later), then create some sort of main control panel to house the controllers and the point switches. Plus rebuild the station and fit platform/road lights and lights in the buildings(together with appropriate switches/dimmers if possible)
This will be a major project for me . Hope I can get the wiring reasonably neat and tidy !
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

Well done, P-P.
Can I have your address and I'll send you my 42 PM1's? :D

No problem. That should only take me about 5 weeks to wire that lot up!!
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

It is a good feeling, isn't it.

Every time I flick the switch for one of my points I marvel slightly that my soldering/wiring still hasn't come apart.

Nice to know it has gone well so far.  You'll be soldering whitemetal kits before you know it  ;D

All good advice guys, but it's only half the story; where is the advice for 'shaky hands/dodgy eyes' syndrome???   :o
