Sorry; here's the answer to my question. 8-)

I didn't get anything specifically model railway related for Christmas (unless you count the socks with the A4 Mallard on them?  :-[ ) but I did get £60 worth of Amazon vouchers - which will be going towards an airbrush compressor!  :claphappy:

Nothing rail related, but I did get a pair of wireless headphones so I can now listen to Radcliffe & Maconie after getting back from work without being tied to the PC.
They're there for their tea.

I haven't replied to this thread before because most of my gifts are embarrassing!

I did get a nice bottle of Whisky but I also was given a set of 3 underpants, a set of mens handkerchiefs, some socks in Lurid Green and a wooden train that has to be built!

The only N gauge was the set featured in my posting about the wheels falling off!

I got two books about French railway station architecture - unfortunately for general readers so no track plans.

Best regards,

I won't ask if the socks matched the underpants  :-\

Thankfully no!  I have been wondering how the friend knew my size and colour for the underwear, she has never asked!

Nice one. Just turn the second coach around and it'll be correctly formed - don't know about the Blue/Grey one but the two green versions I have have incomplete formation notes on the inserts, in that it fails to distinguish between the two driving cars. In the Phase I CEPs (7105-53) the even-numbered driving car carried the unit mg (motor-generator) and was formed next to the TSK, and the odd-numbered driving car the unit battery.

IFAIR the Farish Blue/Grey Cep is numbered 7113; the correct formation is DMBSO 61308 - TSK 70262, formed with the lavatory end next to the DMBSO - TCK 70305, formed with the 1st class end next to the TSK - DMBSO 61309

For those that have the green CEPs, the early one without the SYP and yellow cantrail stripe on the TCK is no. 7105 and the motor is in the even-numbered driving car (this is the one with the headcode (50) on it). From that end, the formation is DMBSO 61230 - TSK 70229 - TCK 70235 - DMBSO 61229. The later green with SYP and cantrail stripe on the TCK is no. 7126 and the motor is in the even-numbered driving car (this is the one with the headcode (18) on it). From that end, the formation is DMBSO 61334 - TSK 70275 - TCK 71318 - DMBSO 61335

Thanks for that mate. My focus period is post refurbishment so I havn't paid too much attention to the as built CEP's. I made sure I got one though as I love the model! Good reference for future use though. Is this mentioned in a CEP thread somewhere on the forum?

Not that I could see when I did a Forum Search on "4CEP", unless anyone knows otherwise... :)

I could open up a thread in the Knowledgebank on 'SR EMU formations', I suppose... Which driving coach is the motor in on your Blue/Grey 4CEP?
