My post was partly toungue in cheek as ive got colds from very local shows. I enjoy warley, theres something about the atmosphere which i just dont get at other large shows.
In terms of pushing and shoving, i cant say ive had a problem the last few years, the behaviour has got alot better than it used to be including the bachmann stand scrum. also i must either have terrible smell but i have to say ive smelt far worse in my local library or on the train than at the show itself.

And no i dont own a tripod, i dont elbow people to get in front and i have a bit of an OCD about clenliness and if i dont find it too bad i wonder if some of it now is purely reputation based on a bad show although given what it was like a few years ago i can understand that view.

I'm going to avoid it like the plague. Due to the swirling scrums of elbowing rude tripod carrying smelly people that frequent the show and spoil it.

I honestly do not know how it got there, but whilst digging around in garage yesterday I came across a bottle of Brut 33! Rather than throwing it I'm tempted to bring it along to the show!  >:D

Yeah - just "splash it all over" - like Henry.

I wont need to, its a spray bottle so it could be used discretely! :D

I think it's just too expensive.  fair enough it is a massive show so you expect the ticket to be a bit.  it's the catering that costs loads as well though, even just a cup of tea or bottle of water!

I might go again one year on the Sunday when it is not so crowded, but don't think I will this year...

Yep, I'm going on the Saturday. Always good for bargains, but do agree Sunday can be more civilised.

Anyone here going this year?

No - if I wanted to get that experience I'd join the sealed knot or play rugby union.

Yes I know what you mean Alan, but for me its mainly a shopping trip for some micro tools and sundries. Book stalls is also another place I will be foraging, as long as I'm nowhere near that blasted Farish stand thats good by me!  ::)

I'll have you know I used to be in the Sealed Knot (Earl of Northampton's 1st Regiment of Foote) :P
Mind you, I got kicked out for tearing through Northampton on my Triumph 500 in full cavalier's uniform  :-[

Mr Sprue

Well there's alway the Bike show, I have to say I was tempted to slip in there last year! :-\

Kipper

The Bike Show will be my first port of call, then pop into the rail show after lunch. SWMBO prefers bikes to trains, but by keeping her happy, I will be allowed a few ££££ to spend on railway stuff. As long as she does not buy a bike, or more biking gear, that is!

Surely a bit of rough justice Mick. I'm sure Cavaliers would have used motor bikes, if they had been around then.
The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.

I'm not surprised, I thought you could only get away with wearing something like this in Luton!  :)

As a devout Ford fanatic I'm tempted to ban you just for posting that pic, it's hurting my eyes!

But they are a donor car for the C20XE that seemed to find its way under the bonnet of proper Escorts a few years ago when I bought Classic Ford magazine...

Hmm, good point ;) And that engine was developed in collaboration with Cosworth 8)

I'll let it go then, so long as the rest of the car doesn't come with it :D
